Becoming
So much of the work we do in therapy is becoming something that we are meant to be. We can accomplish this through developing what we feel is our truth rather than responding to the external validation that we’ve been taught to seek our entire lives.
The benefit of therapy is that you can bounce those new truths against a person who’s objective and supportive.
A lot of times the client will be so trapped in that distortion based on past patterns or programming that we have to practice cognitive behavioral therapy to reframe they’re thinking.
Most people will benefit from EMDR, as it reprocesses maladaptive information that’s been stored for years.
It gives us a clean slate to build the life that we want.
